Why use an NAEA Licensed agent?

Look out for the NAEA logo online, in branch windows, and on sales and lettings boards. The logo means credible advice and guidance based on experience and up to date practice.
In a study by NAEA1, 39% of people did not consider whether agents were regulated, meaning that their agents may not have been signed up to any Rules of Conduct or have any regulated body over seeing them.

Choosing a trustworthy estate agent who will treat you fairly and ensure your money is protected could not be more important. Every year inexperienced and unqualified agents cause Britain’s home buyers and sellers unnecessary stress and hassle – and sometimes loss of money – by giving incorrect or misleading advice or offering poor standards of customer service.

By using JP & Brimelow you are using a NAEA Licensed member and you are guaranteed to be dealing with a professional estate agent who is giving you advice and guidance on the basis of up to date practice.

There is currently no legislation in the UK which requires estate agents to be licensed. NAEA have been lobbying government for many years on the basis that compulsory regulation would mean a better deal for consumers and unearth rogue agents. Until that happens, agents who sign up to be NAEA Licensed are volunteering to have their practices monitored, scrutinised and regulated.

When you see the logo you can be confident that an agent is:

• required to adhere to NAEA’s Rules of Conduct
• signed up to a government approved scheme providing independent redress
• has the right level of valid professional indemnity insurance.

The aim of NAEA is to reassure the general public that by appointing an NAEA member to represent them, they will receive in return the highest level of integrity and service for all property matters, and failing to meet those standards could result in heavy penalties from NAEA.
