Purple Reign

First time buyers activity soars

First time buyers caused a 22 percent month-on-month rise in activity compared to May, but little change when compared to June last year, according to data from the Council of Mortgage Lenders.

There were 28,300 new loans issued to first-time buyers in June, totalling £4.2billion, the data revealed.
The rise in mortgage lending has been boosted by an increase in the number of deals now available to first-time buyers.
